The most important ingredient in ASU Forte is ASU, a specially processed extract of avocado and soy oil. The abbreviation ASU stands for Avocado Soy Unsaponifiables. The recommended dose of ASU Forte is two capsules a day. You can take them at the same time or twice a day, as you wish. It is preferable, however, to take the capsules at meal time(s).

Do you have difficulty swallowing capsules? You can open the capsules by pulling the two halves apart. The contents may be mixed with fruit juice or yoghurt.

Drug interactions

Blood thinners and coagulation inhibitors

Ginger root extract is one of the ingredients of ASU Forte. This extract can cause an interaction with blood thinning/coagulation inhibiting drugs. The interaction involves an amplification of the effect of the drug. If you use blood thinners or coagulation inhibitors and wish to start taking ASU Forte, we recommend that you discuss this first with your doctor.

Immune-suppressing drugs

Cat’s Claw plant extract has a stimulating effect on the immune system. It is, therefore, not recommended to take Cat’s Claw in combination with immune-suppressing medication.

Warnings

Pregnancy/breastfeeding

Do not use ASU Forte if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant or breastfeeding. The supplement has an extremely favourable safety profile, but no studies have been conducted that exclude possible adverse effects on the (unborn) child.

Gall stones

ASU Forte contains ginger root extract. As with ginger, this ingredient may promote the secretion of bile. If there are gallstones in the gallbladder, ginger root extract can trigger an attack of gallstones. You should therefore not use this supplement if you have had trouble with gallstones in the past. There should be no problem once the gallbladder has been removed.

Hypersensitivity of the stomach and digestive system

Serious side effects from the use of the various ingredients in ASU Forte have never been noted. The slight side effects that some people experience are generally related to hypersensitivity of the stomach and digestive system.

Use for younger people

The use of ASU Forte by children and young adults is not advised. A fundamental point is that supplements should not be started before the body is fully grown. ‘Fully grown’ is taken to mean both skeletal development and hormonal development.
